UAC POSTCARD SUBMISSION
RULES
Please bear in mind that once your Postcard has been submitted to uacpostcards@gmail.com there is no guarantee it will be posted on our sites.
Please bear in mind that once your Postcard has been submitted to uacpostcards@gmail.com there is no guarantee it will be posted on our sites.
First it has to pass the scrutiny of
our crack team of elves (See ABOUT UAC POSTCARDS: Who We Are). Also see the FAQ's for further details.
We will be on the lookout to make sure
that all postcards pass the following benchmarks:
ACCEPTABLE SUBMISSIONS
ACCEPTABLE SUBMISSIONS
- Attendees are free to take pictures and short videos in the hallways, at parties, in the trade show and at other fun events to give our friends at home a chance to feel part of the party.
- One of the best things about UAC is the opportunity to socialize and spend time with old friends and "talk astrology" with our peers.
- Anything that documents those social activities and contributes to the spirit of UAC in New Orleans is welcomed, encouraged and desired.
- Also, it would be helpful, if you would include a short description of what you're sending with your submission.
- Where was it shot or filmed and when?
- Who are the people in the image or video?
SUBMISSIONS THAT WILL NOT BE POSTED
- UAC sponsored lectures,
- the opening ceremonies
- Michael Lutin`s OMG The Mayan`s Were Right are off limits,
- as per our agreement with the governing bodies of UAC.
- These are proprietary events and the originators own the content.
Anything of illegal, indecent or questionable content.
- Illegal is probably obvious, but just to be sure we're all on the same page:
- no drugs
- prostituting (!) throwing things off buildings,
- or murdering anyone.
- In fact, please just don't do any of those things at all. We actually hope you didn't even need to be told this.
- If you DO do it, please do NOT film it!!
- And if you DO film it, please, please, please, for the love of all that is Holy, don't send it to us.
- We really don't want to know and we certainly don't want to share it with the world!
Questionable Content
- is a bit more nebulous, but if you just use a little common sense it should be fairly obvious. Anything uplifting, positive and colorful is encouraged.
- Needless to say, if the content is viewed as negative, self-serving, petty, mean or just generally not nice, it will not be posted.
- I am sure I do not need to remind you that biting, kicking and the gouging of eyes will not be tolerated.
- Anything that is blatant advertising (such as photos/videos and bios not related to free lectures at UAC) will, for obvious reasons, not be posted either (see first paragraph in ABOUT UAC POSTCARDS: Who We Are for a reminder of we are and what we're about).
- Of course we all know astrologers love us some red, red wine, not to mention the world famous New Orleans Hurricane, but please remember that this is, at heart, a professional gathering and we would like to REPRESENT it as such.
- So keep it clean, fun, and G Rated, people!
TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
- We can only accept video of three minutes in length or less.
- Remember Google has a maximum size for attachments. It is 25 MB.
- Remember that our elves have to watch everything sent to us looking for the above circumstances.
- We don't have time to watch more than three minute videos when we may be receiving so many at a time.
- Furthermore anything longer than three minutes will take us more time to load which means longer wait times for other submissions.
- In fact, we would even prefer shorter videos - say one to two minutes - we called it Postcards from UAC for a reason!
"Postcards" is a great idea & a wonderful service to the world of astrology. Thank you all for this good work.
